Thanks to The Rock Stars Who Donated Memorabilia for Auction to Benefit Haiti

"......Dozens of items donated by the biggest names in rock and pop are up for Oxfam auction on eBay for those struck by the earthquake in Haiti.

The organisers of the Glastonbury festival put out a plea to artists last Monday and within 48 hours dozens of items were donated.

Music lovers can bid to have former Blur frontman, Damon Albarn, write, perform and record for them, while Coldplay fans can attempt to get their hands on Chris Martin's Viva La Vida tour jacket, signed by all four members of the band.

Emily Eavis, Glastonbury organiser and daughter of the festival's founder, Michael Eavis, said everyone involved in the festival felt compelled to help.

She first visited Haiti with Chris Martin to visit Oxfam projects in 2002. "It had a massive impact on all of us," she said. "After the earthquake we just tried to think of the quickest and easiest way we could do something to help."

Bands and artists responded immediately with donations of sentimental and financial value, she said. "I don't think anyone could fail to be moved by the images we have seen from Haiti and all the bands have wanted to do their bit. People have been incredibly generous....."
